Summer Camp
Since May is the month of vacation for school students, the Kolhapur Dream Team Foundation decided to make the most of this time by organizing a free 5-day summer camp at various locations in Kolhapur. Our aim was to impart knowledge in creative and meaningful ways, allowing children to learn through fun activities and real-life experiences.
Day 1: Best Out of Waste
We kicked off the camp by teaching students how to create useful items from waste materials. This session encouraged creativity, sustainability, and environmental awareness, showing them how simple changes can make a big difference.
Day 2: Visit to Matoshree Vrudhashram
On the second day, we visited Matoshree Vrudhashram, an old age home. Here, the children interacted with elderly residents, learning valuable life lessons, understanding the importance of empathy, respect, and cherishing the wisdom of older generations. The children thoroughly enjoyed their time, filled with heartfelt conversations and meaningful connections.
Day 3: Seed Ball Making Workshop
The third day was all about connecting with nature. We conducted a seed ball-making workshop, where students learned about different types of seeds and their role in the environment. They enjoyed getting their hands dirty, creating their own mud seed balls, which turned out to be one of their favorite activities.
Day 4: Visit to Helpers of the Handicapped
On the fourth day, we visited Helpers of the Handicapped, where students witnessed the incredible resilience and creativity of individuals with disabilities. They observed how these inspiring people crafted beautiful items despite facing physical challenges. It was a powerful lesson on determination, strength, and the limitless human spirit.
Day 5: Jyotiba Cleaning Drive & Social Awareness Activities
Our final day began with a cleanliness drive at Jyotiba, promoting the importance of environmental responsibility. After the activity, we served a delicious breakfast to all the participants. Later, we visited Swargashram Bhumi, where we planted not just seeds in the soil, but seeds of social awareness in young minds, inspiring them to become responsible citizens.
As it also marked the 3rd Foundation Day of the Kolhapur Dream Team Foundation, we celebrated the occasion with a cake-cutting ceremony at Rankala , filled with joy, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness.
This summer camp wasn’t just about fun—it was a journey of learning, compassion, and personal growth, leaving lasting memories and meaningful lessons for every child involved.
